NLB x SCMC Masterclasses
SCO will be holding SCMC masterclasses in collaboration with the National Library Board this coming September! This is an excellent opportunity to learn tips and tricks of the SCMC set pieces from professional musicians who are masters at their respective instruments.
SCMC 2024 registrants will receive an email from the organiser to share further details on the sign-up process for the masterclasses. Please keep an eye out for the email.
We welcome everyone, including SCMC registrants who did not sign up, to attend as observers for these masterclasses. More information will be available in September!

live Competition rounds
The SCMC provides an excellent platform to develop the performing skills of young musicians, raise musical standards, discover new talents, and connect our people, by supporting their lifelong interest in the pursuit of Chinese music in Singapore.
Participants of this distinguished competition platform in Singapore have been appraised by a panel of local and international Chinese music veterans.
Over the years, the competition has seen many winners progress into Chinese music professionals, with some gaining international repute. The continuous discovery of these promising musicians will help to ensure a diverse and vibrant music scene in Singapore.
Performances will be livestreamed on SCMC YouTube channel. In addition, public may enjoy free admission (walk-in) to most live competition rounds.

Selected winners from the solo and ensemble categories will join the Singapore Chinese Orchestra to stage the Prize Winners’ Concert. Come join us and celebrate the achievements of SCMC winners!

Final For Solo (Grand) Cum Prize Presentation Ceremony
Accompanied by the Singapore Chinese Orchestra, the finalists for the Solo Grand category gathers for the last showdown and vie for the Grand Award of SCMC 2024. Catch them perform live and you can also vote for your favourite finalist! The finalist with the highest votes will walk away with the Audience Choice Award.
